Practice: Through thoughtful craftsmanship, we make rigid forms softer, warmer, and ultimately precious.

As both designers and athletes, Avery (architect) and William (builder) are united by a shared instinct for structure and grace. Their practice draws on a spatial awareness learned in both fields, moving fluidly between the rational and the intuitive. It is the same discipline that guides a passing sequence on the pitch that informs how their work is balanced, structured, and ultimately, how an object or space is experienced.

Avery is an NYC-based architect from Alberta, CA, and a graduate of UC Berkeley’s CED. William, a native NYer, earned his M.S. from Columbia GSAPP and works in innovation at the NYCEDC.

Play: Avery can be found platonically chasing tall men through the New York City Marathon, sending pucks to the net at her local outdoor rink or stomping around the Edmonton Folk Fest back home. William spends his free moments building and maintaining the pair of bicycles they overload for overnighters, questioning how an object that is not a lamp can become one, and dreaming up unorthodox recipes—such as Deviled Egg Salad Sandwiches for Palmes Society.
